Every cryoctl command in one place. Just getting set up? Start with the docs overview — install, config, and the permission model.
Reference
cryoctl complete reference
All 10 commands with at least one real invocation example. cryoctl talks to the daemon over /run/cryo.sock — no root needed once your user is in the cryo group.
cryoctl status
One-shot snapshot of the daemon state — profile, temps, fan RPM + boost, dGPU utilization, turbo, guard, and lighting
No command-specific options.
Examples
$ cryoctl status profile: balanced guard: idle turbo: on cpu: 62 °C gpu: 54 °C dgpu util: 3% fans: 2100 / 2080 / 1950 / 1930 rpm (boost 15%) light: quantum brightness: 80%
cryoctl watch
Live view of the 1 Hz telemetry stream — subscribes over the socket and re-renders until Ctrl-C
No command-specific options.
Examples
$ cryoctl watch
cryoctl profile <name>
Switch power mode: cool, quiet, balanced, performance, gmode, or custom. Manual picks stick until the next auto-rule event
No command-specific options.
Examples
$ cryoctl profile performance
$ cryoctl profile custom
cryoctl gmode
Toggle G-Mode — the same maximum-cooling profile the dedicated G-key and game detection trigger
No command-specific options.
Examples
$ cryoctl gmode
cryoctl boost <cpu|gpu> <0-100>
Set a fan group's boost directly (percent). Thermal Guard still outranks manual boosts if a trip threshold is crossed
No command-specific options.
Examples
$ cryoctl boost cpu 60
$ cryoctl boost gpu 100
cryoctl turbo <on|off>
Toggle CPU Turbo via intel_pstate/no_turbo
No command-specific options.
Examples
$ cryoctl turbo off
cryoctl light <effect> [RRGGBB]
Set a keyboard lighting effect: quantum, static, breathe, spectrum, rainbow, wave, bounce, or off. Color-based effects take an optional hex color
No command-specific options.
Examples
$ cryoctl light quantum
$ cryoctl light static 00d1ff
cryoctl brightness <0-100>
Set keyboard backlight brightness (percent)
No command-specific options.
Examples
$ cryoctl brightness 80
cryoctl config
Print the effective daemon configuration — /etc/cryo/config.json deep-merged over the shipped defaults
No command-specific options.
Examples
$ cryoctl config
cryoctl doctor
Hardware/driver compatibility report — model, driver, fans, profile choices, power supply, turbo control, lighting controller, NVML, and the daemon's probed capabilities. Works without root and without the daemon; formatted for pasting into a GitHub model report
No command-specific options.
Examples
$ cryoctl doctor cryo 0.2.0 model Alienware Alienware m18 R2 profile choices cool quiet balanced balanced-performance performance custom known AW-ELC True nvml NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU
